WELCOME TO YOORANA AUSTRALIAN STOCK HORSE & QUARTER HORSE STUD
Yoorana is situated on the far north coast NSW, just outside Grafton on the Orara River (home block) & our Cattle breeding & fattening property, is located at Upper Fineflower .
We have always had registered stockhorses.
We began competing in Stockhorse Shows when girls ( Jessica & Erin ) were 13yrs & 11yrs. They became very passionate about training & competing their own horses. We purchased a couple of broodmares, 1 with a foal at foot to make things happen quicker for them.
We then chose stallions that were performing or had performed in a number of different disciplines with a huge emphasis going on temperament - trainability seems to follow temperament.
Our aim is to try & produce quality animals that can compete successfully in say, a working class then go on to a dressage test ("allrounders")
All our young stock are used around the properties as work horses (usually with their tails plaited up to keep them clean, don't tell the macho horses.
Our motto -'Quality not Quantity'.

1st Stockhorse Show he attended - he won 4yr old Maturity overall, gaining first hack section, first Utility section and a Second in the working section. He also won Novice Working Horse.
